What is Geolocation?

According to law and regulations, you must be located within state boundaries to wager on our platform. We use geolocation technology to verify that our players are geolocating within state lines upon each login. Geolocation is a program that uses either Wi-Fi signal or mobile GPS to locate and transmit players' locations to us.

General Restrictions:

• Due to operating system restrictions, devices running ChromeOS, such as Chromebooks, cannot geolocate.
• Wired connections via an Ethernet cable cannot be geolocated accurately, as they do not provide accurate geolocation pings. You must use Wi-Fi to geolocate accurately.
• You'll be unable to geolocate while running any Remote Desktop Access programs, VPNs, or Proxies; as these software allow users to alter their location. Please disable or pause these programs prior to logging in to your account.
• You'll be unable to geolocate or wager while located on Tribal Lands.

Google Chrome Network Access:

If you're using the newest version of Google Chrome, you'll be asked to either Allow or Block access to your local network. You'll want to select "Allow" to properly geolocate and wager on our site. However, in the case that you accidentally select "Block," please follow the troubleshooting steps below.

To change from "Block" to "Allow" to resolve Geolocation Errors:

1. Go to Chrome Settings.
2. Select Privacy and security.
3. Choose Site Settings.
4. Scroll down to Permissions and click Additional permissions.
5. Click on Local network access to see which sites have requested access.

Location Errors

Error - We cannot verify that you’re within a permitted area. 

1. Change your location to one with a better cell phone reception.
2. Move further inside the state, since you might be located too close to the state border.
3. Connect to another Wi-Fi network with better reception.
4. Move to a place with a larger number of available Wi-Fi networks.

Error - We have detected that you are attempting to wager from outside of your jurisdiction. Please ensure your device can detect multiple Wi-Fi networks for us to locate you more accurately. 

1. If you have not properly selected the correct state/jurisdiction located at the top left of the site, please make sure to do so.
2. Move further away from the state border.

Error - Your IP address indicates you are not in a permitted area. 

1. Ensure you have properly selected the correct state/jurisdiction located at the top left of the site and try again.

Error - You are located near a border area, so we cannot confirm that you are within a permitted area. 

1. Enable your Wi-Fi connection.
2. Change your location to one with a better and larger number of Wi-Fi networks available.

Device Specific Errors

Error - For security purposes, we need to verify your location using our latest software.  

1. Please update your geolocation software or download the latest version, then try again.

Error - For security purposes, players are required to turn off VPNs, Proxies, and IP anonymizers.

1. Disable any tools or applications that have a remote control feature or can alter your device's location. Please disable the software and try again.
2. Try using a different device.
    

Enable Location Services on iPhone:

1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
2. Make sure that Location Services is on.
3. Scroll down to find the BetRivers app.
4. Allow location access: Always.
5. Turn ON Precise Location.

Enable Location Services on Android:

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
2. Touch and hold Location.
3. If you don't find Location:
   1. Tap Edit or Settings.
   2. Drag Location into your Quick Settings.

How to disable a Proxy (Mac):

1. In the Safari browser, click Safari -> Preferences 

       2. Click the Advanced tab. Next to Proxies, click Change Settings

       3. In the Proxies tab, uncheck any checked boxes.



       4. Click Ok -> Apply

Restricted Locations:

• Inside or around a land-based Casino
• Inside or around Sports Stadiums
• On Tribal Grounds
• Within 5 miles of a state or country border
